Privacy Policy

CFBTime is a small, personal project. This page explains, plainly, what we do and don't do with your information.

No accounts, no names, no email addresses

You never create an account or give us your name, email address, or any other directly-identifying information. On your first visit, your browser gets a random identifier stored in a cookie, and your profile (favorite team, rooting interests, conference preferences, state, timezone, TV provider, and channels) is tied to that random identifier — not to you personally.

Information we collect

• Profile data — whatever you enter in the onboarding wizard or Settings page, tied to your anonymous identifier.
• Feedback data — if you use the "which would you actually watch?" feature, we record which game you picked versus what we suggested, tied to the same anonymous identifier. This is used only to improve our recommendation logic.

That's it. We don't collect browsing history outside this site, device fingerprints, or precise location — "state" and "timezone" are self-reported during onboarding, not detected.

Cookies we use

• fbstv_uid — a random identifier linking your browser to your saved profile. Without it, we have no way to recognize you on a return visit.
• session — temporary, used only while you're mid-way through the onboarding wizard, and cleared automatically once you finish or when it expires.

Advertising

This site may show ads served by Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs. Where we can configure it, we request non-personalized ads — meaning ads are chosen based on the page's content rather than a profile built from your activity across other sites. Google may still use cookies for basic ad delivery, fraud prevention, and aggregate measurement; see Google's ad technology policy for details on how that works, and Google Ads Settings to manage your own ad preferences across the web.

Third-party data sources

Schedule, TV/streaming outlet, rankings, and betting-line data comes from CollegeFootballData.com. We only fetch public schedule data from them — we never send them anything about you.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't share your profile with third parties beyond what's needed to run the site (our hosting provider and database provider).
• We don't require or collect payment information — the site is free.

Your choices

Clearing your cookies disconnects your browser from your saved profile — from that point on you'll be treated as a new visitor. You can change any part of your profile anytime from the Settings page.

Children's privacy

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page.
